I caught a fish!

We went fishing this morning.

As a vegetarian, fishing is not something I do very often. As a matter of fact, apart from 30 seconds on the Cape, then a fishing charter into the Gulf at Karumba, I can’t remember the last time I went fishing. Probably when I was around 8 years old on holidays with the family.

But Helen wanted to go fishing, so we did. Not only did we catch the biggest fish of the day – she caught a shark and I got a sucker fish – but the rain held off while we were out there, and we even got some nice sunny patches.

It was lovely being out on the boat, in the channel and exploring the estuaries. I would have enjoyed it even if I didn’t catch any fish.

Then when we were walking back, there was a market day going on in the village square, and I got a free massage.

This really is a nice place and people are very friendly. And now the sun is shining so I’m going to sit by the pool for a while.
